GUNZ mainnet migration diaries. Vol 1

One of the core goals we set out to achieve was enabling regular gamers to play Off The Grid (OTG) on mainnet without the need to create or manage crypto wallets—an onboarding hurdle that introduces significant friction and hurts key product metrics. To address this, OTG is powered by Gunzilla’s proprietary “crypto bank,” a system that securely manages crypto assets, tokens, and NFTs on behalf of players.

Gunzilla is leading the gaming industry not only by developing breakthrough technology, but also by establishing a legal and regulatory framework that can support any game built on the GUNZ platform including third party developers. One of our primary constraints has been ensuring this robust framework is finalized and operational before rolling this out to all 16.8 million player wallets.

We’ve been working closely with our initial cohort of early adopters on the mainnet, utilizing the full functionality of the GUN token across our products. This phase has played a crucial role in demonstrating the token’s stability, scalability, and overall preparedness for the full migration of all players to the GUNZ mainnet. The launch is being conducted under the license of a European crypto asset service provider Kauri Finance.

We are thrilled to announce that Gunzilla has submitted the final revisions to the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) for our Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license which is in the final stage of the review process following 12 months of due diligence. We expect the license to be granted in the coming weeks. This license will authorize Gunzilla to operate as a custodial wallet service provider, offering secure and seamless access to in-game digital assets under its own licenses and regulatory framework. This will also allow us to onboard the remaining OTG player base beyond our initial cohort of 21,000 early adopters.

As part of finalizing the initial mainnet migration phase, users will be able to withdraw in-game items (NFTs) to third-party wallets and NFT marketplaces such as OpenSea. This milestone marks the completion of infrastructure testing in preparation for the global expansion to the broader user base. The withdrawal feature will be available to early users starting in July 2025.

Our team has heard you: we know everyone is hungry for mainnet, and we are delighted to confirm that we expect to be able to massively accelerate the pace of wallet migrations in the coming weeks across all platforms. Stay tuned for our first monthly ecosystem report which will dig into some of the game’s current numbers, the upcoming product roadmap, and more details on the GUNZ ecosystem expansion as we progress towards the full functionality described in our whitepaper.
